Welcome to Edge Hill Athletic's new website! Here you can find everything you need to know about Edge Hill University's track, field and cross country team. The team trains on Tuesday's and Thursday's at the campus athletics track, in partnership with Liverpool, Pembroke & Sefton Harriers.
We are also home to the legendary mascot, Edge Hill Bill.
The team are two time defending Varsity and Lancaster Cup champions, with many athletes reaching semi-finals and finals at the BUCS National Champions.
With BUCS dates announced for 2025 the commitee is keen to remind all athletes that they need a valid time from the last 12 months to be eligible to compete. The full selection policy will be announced shortly. You can access the Team Edge Hill entry standards below.
Open to new and current students competing at national or international levels, or who are on an NGB talent pathway.

Starting off the outdoor season stronger than ever, we competed at both Lancaster and Northern cup this week and yet again came away having won multiple events, smashed club records and shown our amazing development over the last few years. Everyone who competed over the last two competitions should be proud to have been a part of at least one, if not both of the most competitive teams we have had in a long time!

And with that the Edge Hill athletics Indoor season has officially come to a close, and what a weekend to finish on! I speak from all of us in the athletics committee when I say a huge congratulations to everyone who competed and came along to support their fellow athletes. The atmosphere created by the team was one of the best we have ever had, getting numerous shoutouts from the BUCS organisers not only for being the ‘loudest team’ but also for the quality of our athletes proving all the hard work we are putting in is truly paying off.

The second inter-university event of the indoor season was undertaken on Wednesday the 7th of February. The team consisting of 26 athletes made the journey to Sheffield to complete at the English Institute of Sport. This event saw seven club indoor records fall, three by our women and four by the men, and multiple PBs. The entire team was on top form and we could write a book about all their amazing exploits but we don't have the room! So here are the headlines!

The biggest cross-country event of the university calendar kicked off on Saturday 3rd February on a cold and muddy day. Ten of our athletes braved this extreme BUCS cross-country hosted by the University of Leeds. The races comprised of a short and long course for men and women. This cross-country to sum it up was incredibly muddy with towering hills and hay bales. Eight of our ten athletes were making their BUCS debuts and the excitement on the bus over was palpable.
