The indoor season is underway, and we kicked it off with a bang having competed in Manchester Cup on Wednesday the 23rd of November. If this medal haul is anything to go by then this season is going to be a corker!
Our team which faced multiple struggles with transport to the event were unfazed and showed that Edge Hill are a contender that other universities need to keep an eye on. Throughout the competition our athletes continued to impress both themselves and the people around them with numerous wins and PB’s. A huge shout out to Ryan Mostyn (60m), Scott Sinclair (Long Jump), and Basit Kareem (400m), all of which won their respective events. However, our teams success didn’t stop there, with second place going to Ben Whittaker (60m hurdles), Brandon Quinton (3K), and Alex Slater (shot putt). It was amazing to see so many first-time competitions for other members of the team, and I would like to personally thank all of those who competed outside of their comfort zone and hope that those members are as keen as I am to get themselves to the next EHA competition later this season. So, UK universities watch out as Edge Hill are coming for your athletes with our strongest team yet!
Also a big shout out to our athlete of the match, Ben Whittaker, who competed in the 60m hurdles, 200m and 400m, picking up valuable points for the team.
